Milk Club Endorses Hennessey and Harris and No One for Mayor (edit this)
The Harvey Milk Club LGBT Democratic Club voted to endorse Sheriff Mike Hennessey for his seventh term as Mayor and District Attorney Kamala who is running unopposed for re-election.
None of the interviewed candidates received 60% of the votes needed to get the endosement. Quintin Mecke and Gavin Newsom received the largest number of first choice votes. Others such as Josh Wolf, Lonnie Holmes and Ahimsa Sumchai received a number of first choice votes as well as a larger number of second and third rank votes.
As the Vice President of Political for the Harvey Milk Club, I have notified the mayoral candidates that there is discussion on bringing the mayoral vote to a second vote at the General Membership meeting in September.
The club voted to support Proposition A-MUNI Reform and oppose Proposition H-Don Fisher’s initiative on parking.
A vote on a resolution about a complaint against executive board member failed.

Actually, it is my understanding that the recommendation by the Executive Board was upheld, but the substitute motion failed. That said, the the complaint is still valid and the member is on probation.
