I think we’ll all end up supporting different candidates for Supe in District 9 here at Left in SF*. We haven’t yet had the conversation about how to deal with that, so I’ll keep this brief. It’s obviously only my opinion, and should not be taken to represent the views of any other writer here.

Randy Shaw wrote what I think is an extremely problematic article on the D9 and D11 supervisor races. It seems that Randy has forgotten many of the lessons from the last 8 years of District elections, most especially that roots and experience in the neighborhood matter as much, if not more, than what labels the press ends up slapping on people. I really like Chris Daly’s take on this.
