Sutter
Is the Sutter Resolution too local for the State Democratic Party to take a position on? That's what one of the committee members argued last night at the Resolutions Committee. Tonight at 5 PM I will make the argument that the Party needs to take a stand against Sutter, whether it be today or at the next State Democratic Party Executive Board meeting.
Sutter is one of the largest hospital systems in CA and sets
standards that effects care, pricing and charity care, and
treatment of its workers in health system across California.
Sutter has been playing a major political role in fighting nurse-staffing ratios that the California Nurses Association has been fighting. We should not be afraid to take on one of Schwarzegger’s key supporters.
They also work closely with Newt Gingrich and contribute to his Center for Healthcare transformation.
While they have been driving up costs across the state and make the most profits in the state, they have the least charity care.
