It is time to change the law

A civil jury complained that the city was incurring too many costs by implementing affirmative action in violation of Prop 209, Ward Connerly's initiative to prohibit affirmative action. City Attorney Dennnis Herrera repudiated their claims. I'm sure that City Attorney Dennis Herrera is correct and that the City is acting within the law, but sometimes we need to change the law too.

It is time to repeal Prop 209.
Last week I was talking to Steve Phillips, from Justice Matters and one of the co-chairs from the No on 54 campaign, and he said that November 2006 may be the time to do it. Sometimes the glass is half full.
